Cadence, my four year old niece, and I were drawing with sidewalk chalk this afternoon. She showed off to Owen:
Cadence:" Owen, look at the rainbow I made."
Owen: "That's not a rainbow."
Me: " It's beautiful, Cadence."
Owen: "Oh! Oooh...yes. It's beautiful. It's beautiful. Now I see the rainbow. You did a good job...even if the colors are wrong."
I love that Owen heard what I said and understood that he needed to praise his baby cousin. Then he added a little spectrum flair (pointing out that the colors were wrong), and I oved the moment even more
